-3. The Time Traveler (The Time Machine)
- Story: When the Time Traveler returned to his dinner party and recounted his first journey in his time machine to his visitors - which including him visiting the year 802,071AD and eventually going to the end of all life on Earth - with the only proof of his journey been a pair of flowers from the future, his story was understandably dismissed.
As such, it wasn't long before he began to plan a new journey - informing the one visitor who did believe him and came to visit the next day that he wouldn't be gone long. However, as would later be written, the Time Traveler had been gone for 3 years at the time the visitor wrote down the Traveler's account of all that had happened on his first journey.
Perhaps instead, he should have questioned whether the traveler should be going on another journey at all. The apparent death of Weena and the horrors of what was to eventually befall the Earth and all life upon it had already overwhelmed the Time Traveler on his first journey. Now, the horrors of the future began to warp his mind while the fact that he quite literally had the power of time at his command would greatly add to that change.
Traveling forward, he began to learn more about the future; all the while gathering knowledge that he felt would be necessary. Not wanting to risk the possibility of losing the Time Machine again as had happened with the Morlocks, he used the knowledges he gained to recreate the Time Machine in the far future - but with the technologies contained in an advanced suit of armour hidden under his usual attire.
The Traveler soon added other technologies to his growing collection - most notably a sword with an blade made of solid light and a teleport that he integrated with his time machine technology - granting him the ability to move through space as well as time. This was controlled with a computer that covered his right eye and not only gave him a variety of vision and scanning modes to observe the areas around him, but also allowed certain information to be uploaded directly into his brain - such as fighting styles for effectively using the sword he had gained. Finally, he obtained an atmospheric energy shield that would allow him to travel through inhospitable areas with no issue.
Using these and all that he had learnt, the Time Traveler - now a twisted version of the man he once was - sought to return to his own time and use the knowledge from the future to usurp control of Britain's Empire and later the rest of the world; advancing the human race as a whole and creating a new 'Utopia' on Earth before spreading out to conquer other worlds.
However, during his travel back to his own time, his time travel apparatus began to go wild. In his attempt to correct the issue, the devices ended up ripping open a portal to an alternative version of Earth - this 'anomaly' rippling out into other realities.
Upon arrival in this strange, parallel world, the Time Traveler found his devices drained from their earlier malfunction; exploring to find a way to re-power them in a land and time more primitive than any he had yet been to.
Intrigued upon hearing words about two swords of great power, the Time Traveler decided to investigate further - for these mysterious weapons may indeed be the solution he now needed to escape this world and continue with his grand plan...
-Info: The Time Traveler is stronger than the Martian while been more agile than the Selenite. Although the technologies in his armour are not at their full potential, he can still teleport at times as well as use some of his time-manipulation offensively by briefly slowing down an opponent or speeding up his own attacks. His main weapon is a futuristic sword with a blade made of hard light which, thanks to the uploaded information, he can wield very well.
