A masterfully crafted long sword forged by the best blacksmith in Hyrule, Biggoron, who lives on Death Mountain. Designed specifically for Link, it is made to be wielded with one hand. Even so, swinging it with full force gets tiring after awhile.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Biggoron's Sword first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as the strongest melee weapon in the game, outclassing the Master Sword in range and power. However, due to its size, it had to be wielded with two hands. The sword could be obtained through a sidequest which involved healing Biggoron's eyesight, which was damaged by an eruption from Death Mountain due to the presence of Ganondorf's Triforce magic. After Link succeeds in this mission, Biggoron would give Link a contract to wait for three whole days for the sword to be completed. A similar sword could be purchased by Biggoron's weaponsmith brother Medigoron, called the Giant's Knife, but this sword would break after extensive use. Because the sword was wielded with two hands, the shield cannot be used, effectively lowering Link's defense.

As in its game of origin, the Biggoron's Sword outclasses the Master Sword in both range and power.

However, in Soulcalibur II, Link wields it with one hand instead of two. It's large size grants it high attack power and range as well as a good defense. The downside to this is that Link loses health with each attack, since wielding such a hefty sword one-handed requires energy.
