Cane of Byrna (バイラの杖?) is one of the weapons Link uses in Soulcalibur II.
Soulcalibur II[]

In Soulcalibur II, the Cane of Byrna is used for a completely different purpose opposed to its game of origin - combat. Doing a Soul Charge will give Link a couple of buffs; Alongside restoring a portion of Link's HP, its strength will drastically increase up to 150% (surpassing the Biggoron's Sword, Megaton Hammer, and even Soul Edge (Complete)) and lower damage taken by 25%. The Cane of Byrna is one of the three alternative weapons that Link uses that is not a sword, the others being the Megaton Hammer and Bug-Catching Net, and like the latter, not a genuine weapon, as it is in fact a magic rod-like cane. Because of this, the Cane of Byrna suffers from being less effective at breaking horizontal attacks with vertical swings.

It is said that praying to the staff with all one's heart will shroud the user in light and fill him with vitality. Because it is not a true weapon, it usually does not fare well when it clashes against an opponent's weapon.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past[]
The Cane of Byrna originates from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, as an optional item found in a cave within the Dark World version of Death Mountain. When used, it would form an invincible protective barrier around Link until his Magic Meter becomes empty or the effect was canceled. It serves as an alternative to the Magic Cape item, but the cane has the advantage with its force field able to damage enemies along the way. A similar item, called the Cane of Somaria, creates blocks for Link to push or throw around.
