Profile[]
A corsesca is a type of polearm first developed in the 15th century, and one of many that became widely used throughout Europe after the turn of the 16th. Its name comes from the island of Corsica.
The "broad" in broadsword may seem to indicate a particularly wide blade, but the name was only used to distinguish it from the thin rapier, a popular weapon at the time.
