Eiserne Drossel (アイゼルネドロッセル?) ("Iron Thrush" in German) is a ring blade used by Tira in Soulcalibur III, Soulcalibur IV, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, Soulcalibur V, Soulcalibur VI. Originally, Eiserne Drossel was known as Aiselne Drossel in Soulcalibur III, but the name was correctly transcribed in the following installments.
The blade of the ring is dull on the inside but sharp on the outside, allowing Tira to swing it around without injuring herself. Alternately, in Soulcalibur IV, certain attacks like Hiisi Baroque (Gloomy 
) and Grim Reaper (Gloomy +
), cause damage to Tira, allowing her to change from her Jolly Side to her Gloomy Side, and vice versa.

Aiselne Drossel is Tira's main weapon in Soulcalibur III. There are two versions of it in the game: a 1P and 2P version, one for each of her outfits. Other than visuals, there are no differences between the two as the both lack any special abilities or stat changes.

Profile[]
The ring blade of Tira, loyal servant of Nightmare and mistress of the flock of watchers. She has carried this mysterious sword since the time when she was still human, before she became infected by the evil of Soul Edge. It is a weapon unique to the Bird of Passage, an organization of assassins, and indeed it was they who gave it to her. With it, Tira harvested many lives. She kills the targets assigned to her by the organization. She killed her new friends and family who had taken her in when she had nowhere to go.
Now, it is souls that Eiserne Drossel harvests. Offered up in sacrifice to Nightmare—to Soul Edge—these souls are taken from both indiscriminately chosen victims and from those who would dare challenge her master.[1][2]
Soulcalibur Broken Destiny[]
Eiserne Drossel appears in Soulcalibur Broken Destiny as Tira's main weapon. There are two versions of the weapon, a 1P and 2P model for each of Tira's outfits, and both are available at the start of the game.

The ring blade is the trademark weapon of the assassin organization "Bird of Passage", of which Tira was a member for the first 10 years of her life. The ring blade uses its weight and spinning action to tear through its target and deliver a demoralizingly gruesome death, slicing through even the toughest plate armor with ease.
Eiserne Drossel ("Iron Thrush" in German) was the unique code name given to Tira as a child.
One night, Eiserne Drossel strayed from the group and was lost in the outside world. The young girl was taken in by a random family and named Tira, but she ended up murdering her new family over a minor incident. Though she subsequently returned to her life of blood and violence, she never did like the name "Eiserne Drossel", which reminded her of the days she spent as nothing more than one of Bird of Passage's tools, so she continued to use the name Tira. She gave the name "Eiserne Drassel", a name that represented a merciless tool of death, to her ring blade instead.[3]
Soulcalibur VI[]
- "A large, ring-shaped blade used by specialized Bird of Passage assassins who hunt down rogue agents. Within the organization, it is called a "Ganzton" (whole tone). Its extremely unusual shape makes mastering the weapon an arduous process, but even a veteran swordsman is defenseless against an assassin trained in its use from childhood."

"Iron Thrush" was Tira's code name while she was a member of the assassin guild, Bird of Passage. This may come from the scraping noise her ring blade makes as it grinds against her metal gauntlets, the sound of which some say resembles a thrust.
The outer edge of Tira's weapon is one razor-sharp blade, which makes it extremely dangerous to wield. The blade is also designed to kill in an extremely violent and unique way, and those who know what to look for can tell at a glance that the slain was the victim of the Bird of Passage. Additionally, Bird of Passage assassins like Tira are trained to brutally mutilate their victims after death as a means of displaying the organization's strength, and this has helped earn them a fearsome reputation. As Tira is no longer a member of the Bird of Passage, she doesn't care about any of that any more. What matters most to her is the song her little birdy sings, which satisfies her endless and ferocious appetite for blood.

- Although "Drossel" can mean "choke" or "throttle" in German, it can be inferred that it is to be translated to its alternate meaning, "Thrush", considering the bird theme surrounding Tira.
- 'Eiserne Drossel' was Tira's codename when part of the Bird of Passage.
- The 2P variant from Soulcalibur IV and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny would also appear in Soulcalibur VI under the name Shrieker.
- On the Soulcalibur V English website, its name is spelt as "Aiselne Drossel".[4]
