A type of rapier with a thin blade. It was used by European nobles and knights for duels of honor, but it was uncommon for it to be used on the battlefield. Its light weight makes it difficult to knock aside enemy weapons, but it can be manipulated to keep the opponent's attacks in check. It is a very thin sword, and in the cutscene 'Dark Lord' on Soulcalibur III, it is the weapon Raphael uses to poison his opponent, unless you watch the cutscene from event viewer, then he will use Flambert. Also, in French, Epee means Sword, so it is basically a sword called Sword.
The Epee is Raphael's second weapon, bought for 600 gold since Chapter 1.
- Pros :
- Defense +30%.
- Cons :
- Breaking horizontal attacks with vertical attacks is harder than normal.
Soul Edge has the same defense bonus and Queen's Guard is slightly superior, with defense +40%, and both deals far more damages, but Epee doesn't drain health on time or on hit. Add to this an unsignificant con, and Epee becomes one of the best non-ultimate weapons.
In Soulcalibur IV it has the native skill of Shave Damage C, which allows the bearer to deal a small amount of damage to a guarding opponent.
