Samuel Kamkwamba (サミュエル・カムクワンバ Samyueru Kamukuwanba) is character in the SoulCalibur series of games as he has made his first debut in Soulcalibur IV and Broken Destiny. He is a black British boxer and an Interpreter who is known to be a gentleman as he dresses flashy clothes and a friend of the ladies. He has no wife or children and therefore, single. He also makes a return in SoulCalibur VI.
In Soulcalibur V, He entered the SoulCalibur Tournament to prove that he is the greatest boxer of the tournament.
He is also one of the characters returning in SoulCalibur VII
Physical Appearance[]
SoulCalibur IV/Broken Destiny: Samuel is a well built tall black Englishman with high fade black haircut and blue eyes. He is slimmer during his first time joining the tournament.
SoulCalibur V: Similar to his SoulCalibur IV appearance but became more built and ripped compared to his previous appearance. He also has a small goatee.
SoulCalibur VI: He is more buffed and has an afro hairstyle and a full beard instead of a high fade haircut he had in his previous titles.
SoulCalibur VII: He now has a dreadlocks and a longer beard. He also has tattoos on his body and a bit of body hair.

Soulcalibur IV/Broken Destiny: He wears a pair of slacks, white frilled shirt, bowtie, black shoes and a pair of boxing gloves which he never takes off.
Soulcalibur V: He now wears an updated version of his SCIV outfit consisting of a formal vest, tuxedo pants and tuxedo shoes. He still wears a pair of boxing gloves which he never takes off.
Soulcalibur VI: He wears a full black 19th century suit and a fedora. He still has a pair of boxing gloves until today.
SoulCalibur VII: His outfit now consists of a top hat, long trenchcoat with elegant designs, double breasted waistcoat with two belts, red necktie, black slacks and knee length boots and a red cape. This outfit is similar to Jacob Frye's Baron Outfit.
Secondary[]
Soulcalibur IV/Broken Destiny: He wears his trademark boxing outfit consisting of black shorts, helmet, shoes and a pair of boxing gloves. He wears this during his fight with Harry Northrop.
Soulcalibur V: He wears a black baroque styled outfit, monocle and a baroque wig. Like his main outfit, Samuel never takes off his boxing gloves.
Soulcalibur VI: He once again, wears a new set of boxing attire which strikingly looks similar to his SCIV outfit. The outfit's color resembles the UK flag and now wears a long hooded robe with British designs on it and a championship belt he earns in his SCIV ending.
SoulCalibur VII: His 2P outfit consists of an all black and white baseball cap, down vest, baggy t-shirt with golden accessories, baggy pants and hi top sneakers.

Personality[]
SoulCalibur IV/Broken Destiny: Samuel is a polite, gentle and kind person. He never taunts his opponents and has respect on his enemies. He was not just famous because of his strength but also because of his kindness. He can't also bear thoughts on hurting women.
SoulCalibur V: Similar to SoulCalibur except he became snobbish and more gritty unlike before. He will throw few insults and will only show compassion on his enemies if they did not hurt or kill his beloved ones.
SoulCalibur VI: He became a changed man in SoulCalibur VI and he shows no mercy when it comes to fights and uses more insults. Despite being merciless, he still has soft spot for women and will always have.
Abilities[]
Samuel is a professional trained boxer. He can easily take on enemies with his fists. Despite having no training in swords, he seems to be experienced in using swords, seen when he defeated every palace guards without getting injured. When fully enraged, his fists along with his weapons becomes more fiery and they can instantly kill any enemies without the possibility to evade the attack. He can also win any sport, seen on his ending when he wins to Harry Northrop despite having no knowledge in playing the sport.
After the events of SoulCalibur V, he continues to train and his fists became more hardened and unable to be knocked down easily.

My Beloved (Original Timeline)[]
It may look like an ordinary rose but in fact, can pierce and slice enemies because its petals are sharp enough that it can cut a flesh. During his rookie days in SoulCalibur IV, he found this weapon and used it for fighting. He is able to use it properly despite having no knowledge using them. If used during a Critical Finish, the rose will become fiery and a single blow can instantly kill any enemies and therefore, cannot be avoided. Then it goes back to normal after that.
Royal Rapier (Original Timeline)[]
Given to Samuel during his infiltration to the Opera Ball. He used it to defeat the Traitor Palace Guards that are terrorizing the participants of the banquet in request of the Queen of England. Like his primary weapon, it also becomes fiery and instantly kills any enemy.
In SCV, he uses this in his 2P outfit.
Baseball Bat (Unused Weapon)[]
Originally used by Samuel in his character development. The weapon can still be found in the files, however, cannot be used unless modded.

Gentlemanly Looks: Samuel gladly looks at his rose and uses it to slash and stab his opponents several times. He shows off his charm to taunt his enemies before doing an uppercut to his enemies.

Punch Out: Samuel's fists and rose becomes fiery as he performs multiple boxing combos using his rose before performing an inevitable stab that instantly kills any enemy standing on his way.
Unused Critical Finish[]
Bling Blitz: Samuel throws money everywhere before he punches his enemy. The enemy tries to fight back, to no avail, Samuel perfectly dodges every attacks before knocking him/her out with his baseball bat.

- The surname Kamkwamba means "genius" in African, which is reflective to him being an interpreter for African tourists.
- Samuel's surname is shared by a real life inventor William Kamkwamba. Both are intelligent. Despite having the same surname, they are not related.
- In his character development, Samuel is supposed to have hip hop themed outfits in his titles until the final version.
- He is also similar to Raphael as they are both European noblemen and fights similarly.
- Samuel is based on an English YouTuber and Boxer KSI.
- It is unknown how Samuel had blue eyes. It is possible that he had Caucasian ancestors in the past, had an ocular albinism, mutation of genes or just an artificial eye.
- Despite having African roots, he is not officially qualified as a true African. This could be the reasons:
- He was born and raised in the UK, making him more European than African.
- His father is from Malawi and his mother is a Black British, however, he uses his mother's citizenship rather than his father's.
- He doesn't practice any African traditions.
- He has not yet been to Africa until Broken Destiny where he learns his African roots.
- He is the only Black British character in SoulCalibur Series.
