Xie Tian (シエ・ティエン, Shie Tien; Chinese: 謝天 Pinyin: Xiè Tiān) is a fan character in the Soul series of fighting games that was created by Hyper Zergling. He appears in Soulcalibur VI, which marks his debut appearance in the new, rebooted Soulcalibur timeline.

Xie Tian is the eldest son of a family of scholars who have been studying information on Soul Edge for generations. During his teenage years, Xie Tian trained at the Puti Temple under Lin Chuantong, a master martial artist who was well-acquainted with Won Soo-hyun. When Astral Fissures began surfacing in the Ming Empire in the year 1584, Xie Tian made use of his knowledge of the Sword of Destruction as well as his training to defend his fellow citizens from the Malfested.
In the year 1586, upon joining one particular Skirmish, Xie Tian witnessed a mysterious sorceress in white selflessly protecting the innocent from the surrounding evils and struggling against a Berserker that had stepped forth from the nearby Fissure. Before the evil entity could deliver its killing blow, Xie Tian intervened, saving the young woman and eventually defeating the enemy. The heroes then worked together in evacuating the village and finishing off the remaining Malfested. The sorceress, Fan Yuner, revealed herself to be the Light Priestess of Binansuo, a remote village not far from their present location, and thanked Xie Tian for his assistance before parting ways.
As fate would have it, an Astral Fissure would appear only a few kilometers outside of Binansuo three years later. Joined by his younger brother, Xie Yu and a company of local warriors, Xie Tian rushed to the village's aid.
