Linda Johnathan (リンダ・ジョナサン, Rinda Jonasen) is character in the Soul series and made her debut in Soulcalibur IV and retuned in Soulcalibur V. She is a Seinaren which is a race of spirits who have both human and spirit forms.
Her primary weapon is a Chinese Blade called Hibana. She uses the moveset as Xianghua.
What lies in her soul is Hope
In Soulcalibur V's promotional material she is referred as A Burning Flower of Hope
Physical Appearance[]
Linda is slightly shorter then her brothers with green eyes, long brown hair and regular skin tone. She gains wrinkles and grey hair 17 years later.

Soulcalibur IV: She wears grey armor which consist of a breastplate with red trim, pauldrons with red trim, full arm armor with red trim, fauld with a green-blueish cloth in the front, leg armor that reaches the calves with green-blueish boots, a torn gold embroidered red cape, a green-blueish shirt and red pants.
Soulcalibur V: She wears grey armor which consist of a breastplate with red trim, pauldrons with red trim, full arm armor with red trim, fauld with a green-blueish cloth in the front, leg armor that reaches the calves with green-blueish boots, a black embroidered red cape, a green-blueish shirt and green pants.

Personality[]
SCIV: Linda is a prideful, collected, confident person. She doesn't like when people hold back. She does not hold back in battle but will if the opponent in not prepared. It appears that she is trying to figure out what true strength is. She is also a bit merciless as she will not hesitate to kill her opponent if need be.
SCV: Her personality has dramatically changed since SCIV while still collected and confident, she has become more prideful, and rather merciless. She considers losing to be a disgrace and weak opponents a waste of time while strong opponents as good.
Biography[]
In the year 1546 a warrior named Rick Johnathan met and fell in love with a woman named Catrina they both got married, become the king and queen of Almarian kingdom and 9 months later Catrina gave birth to three children. they were named John, Linda and Marco however they were born without a father as Rick died by the hands of The Wizard. 10 years later Linda was send to the flamear kingdom and Marko send to the Solar kingdom John however was left at the Almarian castle.
Linda's childhood in the kingdom was a normal even though she does not remember her parents. she was trained by the queen in the style of a chinese blade at age of 17. She grew a friendship with a boy named Narek, the youngest child of the rulers, this friendship later evolved into love as the grew older and eventually Linda at the age of 26 was proposed by Narek who she married and they both became the rulers of the kingdom.
Soulcalibur IV[]
The defeat of The Wizard by the hands of John did not ease Linda as she felt a great power dwelling beneath the earth and was later confirmed when the tower rose from the ground. Linda recognized the tower as the "Tower of Glory" from ancient history books but it looked a bit different and she could sense a danger from it.
She was certain that her brothers sensed it as well and so equip her armor and blade she headed out, towards the tower.
Soulcalibur V[]
17 years ago, Linda helped his brother John, together with their brother, Marco to rescue Ivy from Emilo's clutches and bring end to him. Helping his brother to Emilo, they were stopped by Durnver, a nobleman who was after the souls swords for his own gain, while defeated by Linda he retreated from castle and she let him go.
Now Linda as old as she was saw that she was ready to let someone else become the ruler but not her daughter who she was still too young to even rule to begin with, then who. This was a question left to be answer as she receiving a letter from his brother, John with an emergency that required his attention and their sister too.
The letter revealed that Emilo had survived and that Jack betrayed and stole Diabolus from him. Marco remembered what John said about Emilo last words, That one of his children would betray him. Linda headed towards the Almarian Kingdom and her thoughts repeated the same thing.
"The end of our era has come, now we shall fight on last time"
Endings[]
Soulcalibur IV[]
Linda defeats Algol and claims Soul Calibur and Soul Edge. She return them into fragments of the Diabolus, turns around to look at Algol and says.
"If you're wondering why I don't kill you its because you will die soon without these. However what you do before then, its up to you"
With these words, Linda left, leaving Algol to himself and return to her kingdom.
The text-only epilogue then says: "She saved the world from a dangerous event, but she knew that this was not the end"
Soulcalibur V[]
With Emilo's death, The world was saved once again from his twisted ideals and rule. Linda left, returning home one last time.
Linda spent her days as queen for 9 years until she made her daughter Lana, the ruler of Flamear but kept a close eye on her just in case. however a year later, hearing that John was extremely weak, she quickly rode towards the Almarian Kingdom.
There he found John in his bed, his family gathered around him, his wife Ivy, their sons and daughters Jack, Richard, Minda and Eve, his son Kein, his twin brother Marco. With all of them together, John said with his remaining strength that even in times of sorrow so long as they live, there will be hope and that he will always watch over them, even their descendants.
As his speech ended, John took one last breath and passed away. His family buried him in the Almarian graveyard, emotion filled the others, tears run from their eyes, anger in a few Eventually they all left, returning to their homes and continued their lives even though some still grieved in their own time. The years passed and in time Linda passed away and Marco shortly after including their spouses. Despite all this one thing was certain, a new era was born and the fate of it was up to their descendants and those who live in it.

Flowers of Flamear: Linda launches her opponent into the air, and slashes him/her three times while jumping and whirling in a circular motion. After landing, she strikes a pose, surrounded by lotus petals and shimmering light.

A Mother's Will: Attacks her opponent rapidly with her feet and blade before delivering what appears to be a blue energy bubble explosion

A Chinese Blade given to Linda by her mother before her death. It bears some special markings. Its sharp point makes it good for attacking, but it is not suited for defensive use.

This stage is a shrine. It shows some similarities with the Eurydice Shrine, except that this one is surrounded with a tropical setting, and the statue of Hephaestus is missing. Also, what appears to be either a mountain or a volcano can be seen at a distance.

A well lit grand festival with several circus artists and Chinese lion dancers in the background. Snake dances are performed on the center stage.
