Night Raven (ナイト・レイヴン, Naito Reivun) is character in the Soul series and made his debut in Soulcalibur IV and retuned in Soulcalibur V. He is a genetic clone of John during SCIV thus a Seinaren but corrupted by The Edge which gives him a right grotesque arm and a grotesque spirit form. In SCV he is no longer a clone of John, instead has a host
His primary weapon is a Zweihänder sword called Soul Edge Fused and he uses the same weapons and moveset as Nightmare. He is quite similar to him both appearance and style.

Physical Appearance[]
Night Raven as the same appearance as John but with grey skin, a dark blonde hair and dark reddish pink eyes.
After absorbing countless souls, Night Raven's appearance began to change, he gains a darker skin tone and his right arm begins to mutate into a huge dark red brownish grotesque three digit claw.
After absorbing even more souls, Night Raven's appearance changes once again, He appears as a hulking armored beast that resembles Night Terror. What was once his armor and flesh has become a combination of armor and bone with a dark reddish sheen. The helmet area has grown and developed a large crest-like shape and the muzzle-covering area has been removed to reveal a lipless mouth with long teeth shown and his eyes are a beady red. At the center of his chest is a glowing core of energy which spreads throughout its upper body. In place of hands are a pair of giant claws and in the "palms" are fully functional mandibles, although this does not appear to hamper his ability to wield a sword in the least. Lastly, a slightly long tail has sprouted from the base of the spine area. From his back are a pair of large, flesh, bat like wings.
Following his defeat at the hands of John, Night Raven obtains a new host in Soulcalibur V thanks to Emilo's children, resulting in his return. His appearance in his disguise form, he has a normal skin tone, Brown hair and red eyes. His right hand and forearm has as a blueish-purple tone.
Out of his disguise, he regains his skin tone and hair color but his right arm has mutated into a blueish-purple huge grotesque three digit claw. Despite having a new host, he retains his fighting style he had 17 years ago.

Soulcalibur IV: He wears black paladin armor with consist of a horned helmet, breastplate with dark blue trim, a singular spiked pauldron, a singular full arm armor with angel wing like spikes on the forearms with dark blue parts on the elbows, wrist and knuckles, a fauld with a white cloth in the front, leg armor with sharp spikes on the calves with dark blue parts on the thighs, kneecaps and ankles, a gold embroidered dark brownish red cape and black pants.
Soulcalibur V: He is clad in dark grey armor with dark green trim, he wears a grey mask covered by a brown hood, a brown large cloth on his hip, his right arm has visible bones and as a blueish-purple tone.

SCIV: He wears the same breastplate and fauld as John but colored black with dark blue trim and white cloth, white pants, a large white tassel with black markings, black gauntlets with red trim, a single black pauldron and a black bird helmet with red trim.

Biography[]
Created by Emilo Deaman Night Raven was sent out to collect souls, Edge fragmants and kill John. Night Raven went to the solar castle and killed every solder he could found and wounded Marco in the process. He later felt a great power in woods and ran to it. In the woods Night Raven found and killed Johan Dürer and his berserkers. Night Raven who have now a more demonic appearance heard that John was after him, Night Raven looked after John so he could finish his task. on top of the Ascuridat tower Night Raven found John and the prepared for battle.
Will Night Raven kill John or will he be defeated by John its unknown but their battle as just begun.
Soulcalibur IV[]
After being defeated by John, Night Raven has return to his human form but now has more of John appearance but with a demonic breast plate and helmet with horns. Night Raven known if he would kill John he must get more power. Night raven searched and killed anyone that had powerful soul and in time Night Raven transformed to his Terror form but with a new arm and his helmet had now become his head. He heard that his master Emilo have been Killed by John. Night Raven founded John in Ascuridat castle which had become ruins both pulled their weapons and prepared for their finale battle.
Is this the end of John or the end of Night Raven. Only destiny will tale.
Soulcalibur V[]
"What is purpose?" he asked. "My purpose."
Betraying his master and creator, Night Raven hid himself in deserted cave far from the eyes of Emilo Deaman. Not wanting to be found, he killed any that found the cave.
Many days passed and perhaps in his loneliness or insanity, a voice spoke to him.
"Destroy everything, all that exist and your purpose shall be revealed"
That moment Night Raven began a killing spree in a nearby town, destroying it till nothing remained and absorbing the souls of the people who lived there.
In a moment, Night Raven question himself whatever this was his purpose or not.
But one thing was clear to him, to kill his master and creator Emilo Deaman.
Endings[]
Soulcalibur IV[]
Night Raven defeats John, who drops Anima and falls to his knees.
"Finally, after all these times I won" Night Rave declares. "None shall stand in my master way." Night Raven then proceeds to impale John with his sword. Lighting his sword, John lied dead, Night Raven began to roar at the sky as he absorbed John's soul.
However as he finished absorbing the soul, he was impaled from behind by the Diabolus. He turned around to see his master, Emilo Deaman.
"You have done well" Emilo said as he lifted Night Raven up with Diabolus. "But I have no longer need for"
Night Raven was sliced in two by Emilo who began to absorb all the souls Night Raven collected. Night Raven in the brink of death only thought was "why" before he died.
Emilo rose the Diabolus to the sky and declared that the world now belongs to him and him only.
The text-only epilogue states: "Betraying his creation, Emilo bended the world to his will and Night Raven became forgotten by time"
Soulcalibur V[]
A defeated Emilo drops the Diabolus and fell to his knees. Emilo asks why Night Raven betrayed him.
Night Raven told him to find his purpose and stabbed Emilo with his sword, killing him.
"Finally" Night Raven exclaimed as the voice said. "Now burn world, destroy everything and absorbs all that exist." Night Raven absorbed Emilo soul and merged the Diabolus with his own sword.
However as he did, he suddenly burst into flames, covering him and the surrounding area. Night Raven screamed in agony and terror as his body became covered in glowing cracks and exploded, releasing a mix of fire and the black energy.
The text-only epilogue states: "The world was destroyed by the energy force, however he never found his purpose"
Personality[]
In human form Night Raven is evil due to his action and talking. he kills humans very aggressive as he rip their hearts out or cut then in half. in his nightmare form he is the same as Nightmare. in his terror form he is brutal as he rip humans in half. Overall he is an evil character.

Soul Drinker: Night Raven uppercuts his opponent in the air and slams Soul Edge (Fused) into the floor and a red energy sphere surrounds him. The opponent falls down, is drawn into the sphere momentarily and then is launched out of it. This move drains the opponent's soul into Soul Edge (Fused).

Soul Edge (Fused)[]
The form of a zweihänder after merging with half of the Diabolus sword fragments. it has fleshy growths and eyeballs appeared on the hilt of the blade.
Soul Edge (Corrupted)[]
A zweihänder corrupted by the fragments of Soul Edge. Its shape is that of a bended cleaver. The eye is near the tip of the blade. It can disguise itself to a giant steel paddle.

Ascuridat Castle - Throne Room (SCIV)[]

Notable features include a chasm at one end of the room as well as a line of knights who serve as a wall. These knights actually move forward over the course of the battle, shrinking the stage area a bit.
Deserted Cave (SCV)[]

The stage is set in a dark cavern with sunlight shining in and the triangle-shaped platform is surrounded by water completely. Bats are circling the combatants' heads. Stalactites and stalagmites add to the atmosphere. The stage's shape, a triangle, continues the tradition of the Palgaea Shrine stages throughout the series.
In ancient times, the cave was used as a resting place by travelers . Later on, it became a shelter for travelers. Recently, due to rumors of a inhuman being living in the cave, very few dare to enter the cavern.
