Shin(真, Shin) is a character in the Soul series and made his debut in Soulcalibur IV and retuned in Soulcalibur V. He reappears in Soulcalibur VI with a younger appearance.

He uses the same moveset as Kilik in SCIV and SCVI and Xiba in SCV.

Physical Appearance[]

Soulcalibur IV-V: Shin is a light-skinned young man with a slim but well built physique, a long black hair that's tied into a single thin braid, a beard and black eyes.

Soulcalibur IV: He wears a silver ornate white necklace with a green gem, a white long-sleeved robe with a red trim and a golden dragon motif, a pair of grey, layered arm-guards, each with a small red cloth wrapping the wrist area, a silver metallic belt with a red strip, white pants, white socks and a pair of grey armored shin guards with straw sandals that have a flower pattern red cloth in the back.

Soulcalibur V: Shin retains the lower half of his SCIV outfit, but wears a brown leather coat over a green shirt.

Soulcalibur VI: He wears a white sleeveless qipao with a red trim, a pair of grey, layered arm-guards, each with a small red cloth wrapping the wrist area, a green sash with a ying and yang buckle, a pair of white pants, white socks and a pair of grey armored shin guards with straw sandals that have a red cloth in the back.

SCIV: He wears a red headband, a pair of grey layered arm-guards with brown and red cloth, a red tunic like layered tassets with white elegant Japanese embroided design and a pair of brown straw sandals

SCV: He wears a similar looking outfit from SCIV but dons a white robe with red trim and no dragon motif, a pair of brown colored fingerless forearm gloves that covered with grey gauntlets with a red angel wing mofit and a helmet like mask with red trim that shows two wings on the top.

SCVI: He wears a silver grey & brown belt around his chest with several green gems, a white upper body of a chiton with a green gem, a pair of black pants with four coattails and red belts tied around his right leg, brown boots with green trim and bird themed knee armor.

Jingu Staff[]

A staff in the Ling Sheng-Su Temple, it was giving to Shin as a gift after he left the temple and as a reminder and source of strength of the Ling Sheng-Su after the temple was destroyed.

A divine weapon, legend says that it is able to alter its length according to its wielder's will. It is said that originally it was not a weapon, but a pillar of the Dragon god's castle. Being a divine weapon, it is difficult for a human being to use it for long periods of time.

Kali-Yuga[]

One of the three sacred treasures of the Ling Sheng-Su Temple.

Kali-Yuga has the power to absorb any type of energy, be it good or evil. Since the night when the Evil Seed rained down the temple Kali-Yuga has been filled with evil energy, and if anyone (aside from Kilik) was to handle Kali-Yuga, it would mean the creation of another Soul Edge-like weapon.

it was originally wielded by Edge Master before being passed down to Kilik who later passed it Xiba.

Shin wielded for a short time but due to the evil energy within, he quickly dropped it. Shin later made a replica of it but rarely used it aside from training and as a backup weapon.
