"The gods are on my side now."
— Shirohime

Shirohime is a character in the Soul series of fighting games. She made her first appearance in Soulcalibur VI.

Her nickname is The Ivory Priestess.

History[]

Early Life[]

One rainy night outside of a remote shrine in Shikoku two infant girls were left on the steps. This particular shrine had a tradition that the two daughters of the head monk would be trained in the art of combat and onmyōdō magic. Once these girls came of age, they would be given the titles of Ivory Priestess and Ebony Priestess. Having no heirs to speak of, the head monk took the girls in and raised them as his own. With their destinies in mind, the girl with the silver locks was named Shirohime, white princess.

Shirohime and her sister Kurohime were gifted students, but their talents were in different fields. While Kurohime was no doubt the stronger fighter, the art of onmyōdō came as naturally as breathing to Shirohime. While she never showed it, Shirohime was always jealous of her sister and fully believed that she was their father's favorite. This illusion would be shattered once she reached adulthood. Shortly after the title of Ivory Priestess was bestowed upon her, the Evil Seed corrupted her sister's mind. One night, Kurohime killed their father and burned the shrine to the ground. Shirohime managed to survive and even escape with the shrine's sword. She then decided to dedicate herself to finding out what came over her sister, and if possible, cure her. This is when she learned about a "sword of salvation" from a contact in Korea. Believing that this blade may be the answer she was searching for, Shirohime began her journey to the West.
