SoulCalibur: Crossed Swords is the seventh installment in the main series of the Soul series of games. It will be released in 2017 for the Nintendo NX, Xbox One and Playstation 4. It is set to feature the largest roster in the series, as well as several returning elements from old games, as well as some new ones. Character creation is back and more detailed than ever, and can even be featured in a custom story mode.

Fans theorized since the character popularity poll that a new SoulCalibur game was in development. This was proven true during E3 2016 when it was revealed during a conference. Development had begun some time before, and it was revealed that a new main protagonist was going to be revealed. Additionally, several other characters were revealed: Patrokolos, Siegfried, Nightmare, Tira, and Zasalamel were shown at the conference, along with the new main character, Joshua. Finally, it was shown that the game would be realeased for the Nintendo NX, Xbox One and Playstation 4, with two guest characters for each one. 


Returning Characters

Siegfried Schtauffen- The former wielder of Soul Calibur, the knight returns as a main protagonist. After talking to Joshua, he understands that Soul Edge is returning and decides to help him end the eternal struggle of the swords. He wields Requiem , and also uses Strife's and Veral's fighting styles as well as his own.
