Gerhilde von Egilmar (ゲルヒルデ・フォン・エギルマール Geruhirude fon Egirumāru?) is both a Wolfkrone soldier and a royal guard of Hilde that appears in Soulcalibur IV and Soulcalibur VI.

She uses Ivy's fighting style. In Hilde's Story Mode in Soulcalibur IV, Gerhilde accompanies the princess for two stages, but then she is unable to continue, and Hilde goes on her own.

Profile[]

Soulcalibur VI[]

Gerhilde is a swordswoman of the Egilmar, a well-respected noble house that has served the Krone family for generations. As captain of Hilde's personal bodyguard, she is known for both her diligence and her deep devotion to the princess.
The Egilmar family is one of the Seven Great Houses. True to its name, which means "distinguished blade" in an archaic tongue, it has produced many excellent swordsmen. Even in Wolfkrone, where both men and women train equally as warriors, the skill of Egilmar's women has seen them all rise to great prominence; all of Gerhilde's younger sisters are also members of the royal guard.
Hilde has great trust in her personal retinue, and her sparring partners are almost always one of the Egilmar sisters. However only Gerhilde, the eldest, continues to refuse the honor. Perhaps she wishes to avoid pointing a sword at the lady she serves, even if only in practice.
Though Gerhilde has made a name for herself as a warrior, she is perhaps more widely known abroad as a collector. Her impressive collection of swords has garnered much attention for its rare pieces, and among the numerous blades gathered from all corners of the Western world there are some so strange that one can hardly call them swords. It is said that once, a famous Italian collector passed onto her this wisdom: "Only those who truly wield can truly appreciate." With these words in her heart, she makes it a daily habit to practice with unique blades.
