- Rebels and Halteese soldiers are exactly the same as each other, with the only difference being the weapons used and their name.
- Technically speaking, there are 10 different Halteese soldiers in the game—5 male and 5 female—but only six of them are actually used in game. This is because, in Chronicles of the Sword, all of the non-story relevant characters are, technically speaking, different outfits for different characters. For example, there are only two non-story relevant characters that use the Katana & Shuriken moveset in Chronicles of the Sword: one male and one female. However, each of them have eight different outfits. For the male Katana & Shuriken, its first outfit is Jinkai, its second outfit is Kagami, its third outfit is Shiun, fourth outfit is the generic male Grandall soldier, fifth outfit is the generic male Dalkian soldier, its sixth outfit is the male Brigand, seventh outfit is the generic Malettan soldier, and its eighth outfit is the generic male Rebel/Halteese soldier. For the female Katana & Shuriken character, its first outfit is Shiina, second outfit is Chikage, third outfit is Konomi, and the remaining five outfits are the same as the male's except the female equivalent. Thus, a male and female Brigand exists for all of the bonus movesets in the game and are technically different characters from each other (even if they look and sound the same).
- Since Halteese soldiers and Rebels are essentially the same, the only difference between the two are their names. The name changes depending on what movesets they use, as shown in the table below:
