Lightsaber (ライトセーバー,Lightsaber?) is one of Darth Vader, The Apprentice, Yoda's weapons available by default in Soulcalibur IV. The stats of the weapon are different for each character. Each character has two forms of the weapon, Lightsaber (1P) and Lightsaber (2P); both versions are identical in stats but slightly different in appearance.
Lightsabers in the Star Wars mythos[]
The lightsaber is the trademark weapon of choice employed by both the Jedi and their dark counterparts, the Sith. Lightsabers are elegant weapons, appearing as bladeless hilts that, with the push of a button, immediately emits a blade of constantly flowing energy. Because lightsabers virtually have no weight to them nor do they have a handguard (With some exceptions), there is more risk of injury to oneself, thus requiring exceptional training to wield accordingly. Although lightsabers can cut through virtually anything, discovered ores and certain technologies have been developed that can counteract against such powerful weapons. Although it's not uncommon for a Jedi or Sith to be given a lightsaber, it is almost mandatory that one must forge their very own weapon using the Force. Lightsaber blades come in all colors, which are determined via lightsaber crystals found in special caves located across the galaxy. They can not only be customized to better fit the fighting style and abilities of the particular wielder, but there also exists special variations of the lightsaber, giving Force-adept users a better sense of diversity and individuality.
