Liang Lingyu (梁玲玉) is a non-playable character in Soulcalibur VI who can be seen in Xianghua's Soul Chronicle and side quest in Libra of Soul (only if the player meets Xianghua). She uses Raphael's fighting style.

Profile

Liang Lingyu is the daughter of a family of martial artists who were famous during the days of the Ming Empire. From a young age, she has had a fierce sense of justice and despised those who do evil. To achieve her aim of becoming a protector of all that is just and to prove her strength, she decided to join the emperor's personal guard.
Liang became a friendly rival to Xianghua of the Chai family, a family also famed for their martial arts prowess, and liked to tease her whenever she got the chance. Though well-versed in both the literary and military arts, she was somewhat stubborn and prone to bouts of overconfidence.

Etymology

• Liang means "beam/horizontal beam/beam of a roof, girder, bridge, ridge, balk" (梁).
• Lingyu means "tinkling" (玲) (ling) and "beautiful, pure, jade, jasper" (玉) (yu).

Trivia

• Originally, the motto "Justice will prevail!" belonged to Lingyu. Later this motto was adopted by Xianghua.
• In Libra of Soul, Lingyu said that she had a younger sister whose name was Leixia. This is the same name that Xianghua's daughter (from the original timeline) has.
