Magic Sword and Magic Shield ( マジカルソード＆マジカルシールド?, lit. Magical Sword & Magical Shield) are one of the weapons Link can use in Soulcalibur II.

In Soulcalibur II, the Magical Sword/Shield are completely redesigned from their game of origin and are named Magic Sword & Magic Shield, although in some instances the name is shortened to just simply Magic Sword.
Although they function very similarly to the Master Sword and Hylian Shield in overall offense and defense, the Magic Sword has the ability to cause 40% of chip damage to blocking opponents.

Ancient arms hidden deep in an underground tomb. This powerful sword holds an enchantment that counters the forces of darkness, and its holy aura allows is to deliver damage to the enemy even without making physical contact. The shield is enchanted with a spell that protects its user from enemy magic, but the actual shield itself is quite old and is weak against physical impact.
The Legend of Zelda[]
The Magic Sword appeared in the very first Zelda game, The Legend of Zelda, as the Magical Sword, predating the Master Sword's first appearance and is seen as its precursor. It is the most powerful weapon in the game and could be found underground in a tomb near Level-6 in the main quest, and west to the location where the previous Sword, called the White Sword, is found in the Second Quest, given to by a certain Old Man when having 12 out of 16 Heart Containers. Naturally, being the strongest Sword, this weapon possessed double the power of the White Sword, the replacement for the Wooden Sword and therefore has four times its strength. The Magical Sword is entirely optional, however, as only any kind of Sword, as well as the Silver Arrows, are required to defeat Ganon, though this weapon would make the final battle easier.
Along with the Magical Sword was the Magical Shield, a larger version of the normal shield that interestingly bore an insignia resembling the real-life Christian Cross. This shield could block any fireball or projectile except from bosses. Unlike the Magical Sword, the Magical Shield had a more common appearance in the game as it could be bought from several shops, and thus could be replaced in case of a Like Like encounter. However, it is expensive, at the cost of between 90 to 160 Rupees.
Trivia[]
- In The Legend of Zelda, another important item beside the Magical Shield has the Christian Cross on it, called the Book of Magic. Ironically, this item was actually the Bible in the Japanese version of the game but Nintendo changed it due to their policy of avoiding religious material, but oddly retains the Cross in international releases.
