Mayhem is a character in Soulcalibur VI who was mentioned in Museum. She is a member of the Aval Organization.

Profile

While well-known in the Organization as a ruthless outsider hunter, Mayhem is not the type to make friends. She is Grøh's successor in The Twelve and wields the blade Hauteclaire Replica. She has no love for teamwork, and any team she joins collapses without fail, so as a special case, she is ordered to work solo missions exclusively. However, her predecessor Grøh is also famous for supposedly being matchless in solo fights, and so Mayhem is compared to him at every opportunity. Because of this, she harbors resentment toward him.
Mayhem's nerves have undergone a special kind of surgery performed by Azwel, who was deeply impressed after one desperate battle in which Mayhem exhibited insatiable thirst for bloodshed despite sustaining near-fatal wounds. Thanks to Azwel's adjustments, she can now turn the pain she feels into strength. The closer she is to death, the greater her chances to annihilate her enemies. If any ordinary person were to undergo the same physical duress, they would most likely lose consciousness and die before they could achieve victory.
She has also received surgery on her irises after losing her eyesight in a particularly fierce battle. The inhuman glint in her bright blue eyes has further distanced her from others, and Dion is the only one amongst The Twelve who can converse with her. It seems she has afforded him some trust, as she reads the handbooks he recommends to her. Some say she even relates to the ideologies written in those handbooks and now yells out the names of her moves in battle, though no one has actually observed her out in the field.

Aval Organization Afterstory 3: Mayhem, the Bloodstained

"Mayhem is absent again. Is The Twelve some kind of joke to her?"
Calvin breaks into dry laughter. Contrary to his words, he doesn't seem angry at all. Natalie glances over to the empty chair where Grøh used to sit. The one chosen to be Grøh's successor is the Aval Organization's one-and-only berserker-level swordfighter: Mayhem the Victorious. In terms of battle skill, she is second only to Grøh in solo fights, but she is also a lone wolf by nature and refuses to work in groups. With Grøh now missing, she was chosen to avoid losing more members from The Twelve. However...
"Are you listening, new recruit? We're not going out there just to die, you know."
Calvin's voice shakes Natalie from her idle thoughts. The Organization plans to attack the outsiders' nest, Ostrheinsburg, in the near future. The current meeting's objective is to form a concrete plan to take down one of the cursed bladefighters serving under Soul Edge. Natalie is now one of The Twelve—she must focus on the task at hand.

While Natalie turns her attention to the meeting, a lone swordswoman in a faraway place sends her blade slicing through a foe. When the outsider falls, she sits atop it to rest, covered in wounds and blood from countless slaughtered enemies. Much of the blood is also her own, but Mayhem feels no alarm, for pain is the source of her power.
"Right about now the twelve bigshots should be meeting... well, eleven without me," she whispers. "There's no place for me there. My only use is cutting down enemies."
Her eyes fall to her sword, Hauteclaire Replica, which is once again coated in malfested blood. She thinks of Grøh, whose place she took in The Twelve; she doesn't consider her fighting ability inferior to his, but she is constantly compared to him. And yet, before she had the chance to prove her strength, he disappeared.
"...No use thinking about it. He's gone," she says to herself bitterly.
From the corner of her artificial blue eye, she detects her next foe. Even though her torn body screams in pain as she stands. she refuses to stop fighting until she has hunted down every last outsider. Any normal person would have fainted from the wounds by now, but for Mayhem, pain and agony are power.
