Motien Pass Ruins (摩天嶺の遺跡?) is a stage that appears in Soulcalibur VI.
Profile[]
Ancient ruins lie hidden amid the peaks of the secluded Motien Pass, and at their center is enshrined a holy mirror that cleanses all things wicked: the Mirror of Evil's Bane. This gigantic artifact has been protected since ancient times by the family of Won Soo-hyun, who are experts in the Taoist methodology of the Six Heavenly Arts.
Many fear the mirror's cleansing powers and seek to destroy it. Through generations, the Won family has safeguarded the mirror from harm with a barrier erected via the Six Heavenly Arts's Taoist rituals; none except those the family has acknowledged may enter Motien Pass. The clan's spiritual arts borrow magical energy from the Zi Wei Emperor of the North Star, who rules over all celestial beings. Upon the Motien peaks, the power of the cosmos is strong—especially that of the North Star—resulting in a powerful barrier that keeps the Motien Pass ruins hidden from public knowledge.
Supposedly, the mirror was created to seal away a great evil that had appeared in this world, but none today know the details. The only thing that remains from that ancient history is an uneven terrain with misshapen rocks, suggesting the presence of a malevolent force.
The former secret royal inspector Soo-hyun now lives hidden away in the Motien Pass ruins, and her substitute, Hwang Seong-gyeong, uses them as his base. Here, Hwang replenishes his talismans and the celestial power within Dark Thunder before setting out on missions.
If Hwang ever made the journey out to the ancient ruins sleeping in faraway Egypt, he would have had a chilling realization: two ruins miles and miles apart from each other bear the same emblem carved into their stone—the mark of the Soul Edge.
Trivia[]
- It is available for free in Update ver.2.30 alongside the release of Season Pass 2, DLC13: Hwang and DLC14: Character Creation Set F.
- A couple of the monuments on the stage have a strange symbol on it. That symbol is meant to be an ancient symbol that represents Soul Edge.[1]
- This same symbol can be seen in Egyptian Ruins, Egyptian Crypt, Grand Labyrinth, Grand Labyrinth - Corridor of Suspended Time, and in Soul Blade.
