Nanbanfu (南蛮斧, Nanbanfu^?) is one of Astaroth's weapons in Soulcalibur II, Soulcalibur III, Soulcalibur Legends, Soulcalibur IV, and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny.

Description: "Nanban" means "Europe", but the construction of this ax and its decorations indicate that it is more likely of Asian design. It was probably given its name to indicate that it is a European-style ax. Its weight gives it high attack power, but in turn, it also transmits the shock of an opponent's blow directly to its wielder.

There are two methods to obtain Nanbanfu: the first is to defeat Astaroth in Tales of Souls (although the chances of obtaining it this way are low), and the other method is to simply purchase it in the Weapons Shop for 42,900 Gold. However, you need to unlock it first before it'll appear in the Shop's listing. There are two ways to make it appear in the Shop's listing:

• Fight a total of 475 matches.
• Clear any of the following stages during Astaroth's Tales of Souls:
  • Stage 23 (Kilik)
  • Stage 24 (Taki)
  • Stage 25 (Xianghua)
  • Stage 26 (Unknown Soul (Arthur) in the Grand Labyrinth)
