Ostrheinsburg Castle: Hall of the Chosen (オストラインスブルク城・叙任の間?) is a stage that appears in Soulcalibur VI.
Within each round, the flames in the castle's background grow larger to better illuminate the stage. At first, the fire is located in a small area on one side of the stage. After another round, half the stage is in flames. The next round, the flames have gotten larger and have spread a bit into the other half of the room, most notably towards the staircase.
Profile[]
A castle once home to the renowned solitary knight Sir Stefan, who was eventually defeated in a struggle with his sworn enemy, Marquis Andre. It was here that the vanquished soldiers were executed and prisoners carried away, their cries and screams echoing through the air. Long since infiltrated by thieves, this magnificent castle once likened to a fortified city is now nothing but cursed ruins. However, the castle has a new ruler: the Azure Knight Nightmare, who is using the ruins as a base in his savage hunt for souls. His true intentions are unknown, though he appears indeed to be a knight, or at least eager to give that impression. Here, inside the castle's great hall, intricate ceremonies were held for the appointment of knights in medieval times, and it's assumed that the three individuals who went on to become the Covenant Shield participated in the same kind of ritual under the castle's new owner.
Trivia[]
- Its background music, "Darkest Shadow", is a re-orchestrated, amalgamated version of "Worth Dying For" and "In the Name of Father". Fittingly, said BGM's are from City of Water and Ostrheinsburg Castle, Siegfried and Nightmare's stages in Soulcalibur.
- Ostrheinsburg Castle: Hall of the Chosen is the third occurrence of Nightmare and Siegfried sharing a stage in a Soulcalibur installment. The first was with Lost Cathedral in Soulcalibur III.
- In the Museum in Soulcalibur VI, the stage is called Ostrheinsburg Castle: Hall of the Ordained. In the Japanese version, there is no naming discrepancy.
