Scarlet Thunder (紅雷 Kōrai?, lit. "Crimson Thunder") is a guandao that has been an heirloom of the Seong family, passed down from generation to generation, and is the weapon primarily used by Seong Mi-na in all of her appearances: Soul Edge, Soulcalibur, Soulcalibur II, Soulcalibur III, Soulcalibur IV, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, and Soulcalibur VI.

Description: Scarlet Thunder is the name of Seong Mi-na's Zamba-toh.
Mi-na's Zamba-toh is one of the weapons passed down through many generations of the Seong family. Mi-na played with this large blade since she was a toddler, so despite its considerable weight, she was able to wield it easily and took it with her when she ran away from home for the second time.
Mi-na combined the rod style taught to her by Kong Xiuqiang with her own individual style and thus armed, she departed to search for the "Sword of Salvation" as a way to prove her independence. Do the thoughts and prayers of her father and Hwang reach this headstrong girl?

Profile[]
In Korea, this zanbatou belonged to Seong Han-myeong, who was often styled as a "demon among warriors." It is a family treasure that has been passed down through the house of Seong for generations.
Mi-na began her study of the martial arts under father at a very young age. It is said she came by the weapon during this time; one might even say it watched over her as she grew into a fine young woman. Later, she chose this same zanbatou to accompany her on her many travels.[1][2]

In Seong Mi-na's Colour 2 outfit, Scarlet Thunder's shaft is coloured white. In her Colour 4 outfit, the shaft is coloured black.
Profile[]
This zanbatou has been passed down through the Seong family from generation to generation. As its appearance implies, it is quite heavy. Despite its weight, Seong Mi-na, who as a child swung Scarlet Thunder instead of playing with toys, finds it extremely easy to use.
Her choice to bring the zanbatou with her when she left home was likely not to raise the ire of her father over taking the family heirloom. Rather, it's far more probably that she chose the weapon simply because she was so used to having it by her side. Scarlet Thunder was simply the most dependable traveling companion Seong Mi-na could have chosen.
