The Colosseum (闘技場?) (also called The Arena) is a stage that appears in Edge Master Mode in Soul Edge. The secret arena attracts fighters from all over the world. The victor receives a valuable weapon as a reward.
Trivia[]
- In the map of Edge Master Mode, this stage is located somewhere between Europe and Asia. However, only the words "COLOSSEUM" is shown, so it is unknown which country the colosseum is located in.
- In the opening movie, Siegfried can be seen battling Taki on this stage. Sophitia also briefly appears here as well, where she strikes directly at the camera.
- This stage can only be used outside of Edge Master Mode if the Ring Size is set to 20m. If the Ring Size isn't set to 20m, then either this stage won't appear at all (such as in VS Battle Mode), or it will be replaced by Eurydice Shrine - Arena (such as when selecting Sophitia! or Sophitia!! as the opponent in Practice Mode).
- Unlike in later games, Soul Edge does not have a Stage Select feature. This means that, outside of Edge Master Mode, the only way to play on this stage is to select Sophitia! or Sophitia!! as the opponent in Practice Mode or to play VS Battle Mode. Unlike in other modes, where the stages are chosen based on the opponent the player is facing, VS Battle Mode rotates the stages each match in either a predetermined order or at random (but only if the player holds the select button). In terms of order of appearance in VS Battle Mode, this stage is the last one on the list, which goes as follows:
