— Narrator

Valentine Mansion (バレンタイン邸?) is a stage featured in Soulcalibur and Soulcalibur III.

Soulcalibur[]

Profile: Count Valentine constructed the avant-garde Valentine Mansion by using the wealth and political contacts amassed through trade. Countless parties that showed off the prosperity of the Valentine family were held in the great hall where expensive rose-colored marbled was used in great abundance.

However, Count Valentine was beguiled by Soul Edge's powers and began to squander his riches madly in its pursuit. It was not long before the Valentine clan fell into ruin.

Ivy, the adopted daughter of the Count, remains here alone to pursue Soul Edge by researching alchemy and ancient sorcery.

Soulcalibur III[]

It burns to the ground during Ivy's Story of Soulcalibur III.

Soulcalibur III - Valentine Mansion

Profile: The mansion of Count Valentine appears dark and abandoned, but a light flickers in one corner of the building. Ivy, adopted daughter of the late Count, now uses it as an alchemy workshop and a place for her experiments with magic. The Count had pursued Soul Edge as the key to immortality, but his daughter has ascertained that what her father had sought was an evil sword that devoured souls. She swore to destroy him, and in this place, the peculiar weapon dubbed the "Ivy Blade" was born.

And now, having learned of the existence of a sword that opposes Soul Edge, Ivy has holed up in her room. There, she pours over her books, making use of all of her knowledge to research the spirit sword, Soulcalibur. Surely, it will not be long before she sets out on a journey in search of further knowledge.

Trivia[]

  • In the Arcade and Japanese versions of Soulcalibur, this stage is called The Valentine Mansion.
  • In Soulcalibur III, if the player pays attention during a "ring out" on this stage, the sound of the rung out character hitting the ground can be clearly heard. This is unique as only one other stage in the game shares this small factor.
