Wind Divide Flare in Soulcalibur V.

Wind Divide Flare ( (ゲン) () Genbu?) is an 8-Way Run attack that Edge Master and Kilik can do. Edge Master can only do it when he mimics Kilik or Seong Mi-na's moveset in Soulcalibur, and Xiba's moveset in Soulcalibur V. Kilik would later get it in Soulcalibur II and he would have it up to Soulcalibur V where, like Edge Master, he could only use it when he mimics Xiba's style.

Etymology[]

The Japanese name for Wind Divide Flare is Genbu, one of the Four Symbols in Chinese constellation.

Trivia[]

  • Despite Edge Master and Kilik requiring them to use Seong Mi-na or Xiba's style to use this move, neither Seong Mi-na nor Xiba can actually do it themselves.
  • Edge Master has two different English names for this move in Soulcalibur. The name differs depending on if Edge Master is using Kilik or Seong Mi-na's style.
  • While Wind Divide Flare wouldn't appear in Soulcalibur VI, another move with the same animation and a similar name does: Black Tortoise Embers.
  • Wind Divide Flare is the only unique move that Edge Master has.
