Yagaji (ヤガジ, also written as 屋我地[1]) is a minor character who was first mentioned in Soulcalibur and its supplementary material, but made his first in-game appearance in Soulcalibur VI. A member of Maxi's pirate crew who works on his nunchucks, and the creator of Maxi's Fatibal. He was one of the few members to survive the slaughter of Maxi's crew due to having to leave the ship after getting injured prior to Astaroth's attack.

His role in the New Timeline is virtually unchanged from that of the old one.

Profile[]

Soulcalibur VI[]

A member of Maxi's pirate crew. Skilled with his hands, he works as a shipwright and is the one responsible for crafting Maxi's nunchaku, Fatibal. Made with a fine rosewood from India and with Maxi's strength and techniques in mind, Fatibal is a testament to Yagaji's craftsmanship and his fondness for Maxi.
Yagaji was injured during his travels and was forced to leave the ship and return to the Ryukyu Kingdom. However, one day, he simply put down his chisel and never worked again. Those who know him say that when he learned that his former crew, who were like a family to him, would never return, he lost the will to craft anything ever again.

Trivia[]

  • In Soulcalibur, his name is spelt 'Yagazzi'. This is probably because the ジ character in his name can be written as 'zi' in the Kunrei-Shiki system of romanisation.
